Conservation Status

It is not considered an endangered species globally, but if included in Appendix II of CITES. In Mexican law is not considered threatened. It is a common species in its range and occupies disturbed habitats by humans is common in artificial feeders of the city of Mexico. Studies are needed on their ecology, reproductive biology and food, and encourage studies aimed at conservation.
