Synallaxis kollari
Hoary-throated Spinetail
- Order: Passeriformes
- Family: Furnariidae
- Monotypic
Priorities for Future Research
Very basic natural history information for the Hoary-throated Spinetail, such as reproductive, social and feeding behavior, still is lacking. Given that the Hoary-throated Spinetail is locally common and its distribution well-known (Vale et al. 2007), only a few months of study in the field during the reproductive period likely would generate valuable and currently unavailable information about the species. A follow-up study on how much gallery forest habitat continues to be converted into rice plantations is also a priority.
