Priorities for Future Research

Cuban Green Woodpecker is widely distributed on Cuba and is fairly common. Nonetheless, most aspects of its natural history are poorly known. There is little information on its diet, and no information on such topics as age at first breeding, life span and survivorship, dispersal, population regulation, molts, territoriality and population density, sexual behavior, and responses to predators. There also is little information regarding the reproductive biology of Cuban Green Woodpecker.
